“Characterization or characterisation is the representation of persons (or other beings or creatures) in narrative and dramatic works of art. This representation may include direct methods like the attribution of qualities in description or commentary, and indirect (or “dramatic”) methods inviting readers to infer qualities from characters’ actions, dialogue, or appearance. Such a personage is called a character.[1] Character is a literary element.[2]”

That’s according to Wikipedia.  That’s a great big load of… (insert explicative)!

Is there something wrong if in the passed three years you’ve created over 208 characterizations?  I hope not.   I counted my characters tonight. (Don’t ask.  I was having a moment.)  I counted them from my other novels (I have 13 total WIPS) in journals, from my short stories, from my kids series I’ve started for my girls and from the blog. I may have overlooked a few but still… 208. That’s a lot of fiction in my head.

Needless to say, it’s crowded up there and I’m nuts!  Why?  Because I can’t stop creating.  I’ve ideas percolating, characters knocking, begging to come out.  Can I please finish something!   I started working on Chapter 5 of SKoH tonight.  I’m making progress.  I’m dying though.  I can’t wait to complete this baby.  Childbirth is stressful!

And for some reason, I’ve been in 70’s mode with the music.  Mainly Bee Gees and Queen.  I may be going crazy but I’m staying alive.  I can’t wait for one to bite the dust, so I can move on to the next one!

What’s happening with y’all?

Thanks for reading.

Love ya’ll!

    1. You’re lovely. And that is amazing compliment. Clearly you need to read more! LOL

On that note… I too have to read more. I just need more time!

I’m off to your world for my Sunday treat. Right after I make pan cakes for the fam. 😉

      Or maybe before. 🙂

    1. Glad you liked it. However… I’ve got family members looking at me funny.

“How do you come up with this stuff, Mel!”

At one point those types of reactions made me want to stop. But then I said forget y’all. I’ma write anyway.

      Thanks for reading! 🙂

  2. Love your crazy spirit, and your ability to characterize. Such a wondrous attribute. As for me I’m listening to “Antony”, From Antony and The Johnsons, especially to the Album, “I Am A Bird Now”, and my 2 fav’ songs, “You Are My Sister” and, “What Can I Do”
