“Characterization or characterisation is the representation of persons (or other beings or creatures) in narrative and dramatic works of art. This representation may include direct methods like the attribution of qualities in description or commentary, and indirect (or “dramatic”) methods inviting readers to infer qualities from characters’ actions, dialogue, or appearance. Such a personage is called a character. Character is a literary element.”
That’s according to Wikipedia. That’s a great big load of… (insert explicative)!
Is there something wrong if in the passed three years you’ve created over 208 characterizations? I hope not. I counted my characters tonight. (Don’t ask. I was having a moment.) I counted them from my other novels (I have 13 total WIPS) in journals, from my short stories, from my kids series I’ve started for my girls and from the blog. I may have overlooked a few but still… 208. That’s a lot of fiction in my head.
Needless to say, it’s crowded up there and I’m nuts! Why? Because I can’t stop creating. I’ve ideas percolating, characters knocking, begging to come out. Can I please finish something! I started working on Chapter 5 of SKoH tonight. I’m making progress. I’m dying though. I can’t wait to complete this baby. Childbirth is stressful!
And for some reason, I’ve been in 70’s mode with the music. Mainly Bee Gees and Queen. I may be going crazy but I’m staying alive. I can’t wait for one to bite the dust, so I can move on to the next one!
What’s happening with y’all?
Thanks for reading.
